It was obvious that the park was never built with disc golf in mind. For some holes, guys were throwing discs from parking lots and sidewalks. Not exactly Augusta National, but they seemed to adapt easily. No caddies, as each guy carried his own set of discs, usually in a backpack. I really wanted to capture the long driver throws, so I stayed mostly around this area.
Boyd Hill was also not the best environment for photography. After I gotten back home and downloaded my pics, I found all sorts of distracting objects in the frames: dumpsters, garbage cans, basketball goals, apartments, etc. While I’m a descent photoshop user, some photos just could not be salvaged. Thankfully, I realized most of this while shooting, and tried to angle my shots to avoid items that drew your eye elsewhere.
I wanted to do some fancy time lapse sequences for this gallery, but I just don’t have the time or energy right now. I may revisit this post in the future, but this will have to do for now.
