The lunchtime crew that plays soccer on Wednesdays and Fridays at Pinckneyville Park is a dedicated bunch. Scorching heat, stifling humidity and intense sun rays have yet to deter these weekday warriors. They play for fun, but the competition is still very serious.
I decided to return to Pinckneyville this past Wednesday, to make use of my rented Nikon 70-200 mm f/2.8. It’s like renting a Ferrari, the lens is fantastic! I struggled to keep up with the action, even with sneakers on this time. You can get dehydrated fast, so they have several scheduled water breaks to make sure no one suffers from heat exhaustion. I’ll try and make it out at least once more, before the weather turns cold.
