Warriors Edge Indians

Jordan Neff (#14), North Cobb Warriors

This game was not for the faint of heart. It was a real white knuckler right to the end. During the first half, you always felt the North Cobb High School Warriors had command of the game, although they ended the quarter only up 6 points. Trouble for the Warriors started early in the 3rd quarter, when starting point guard Saxon Steele (#22) was benched following his 3rd foul. The exchange between him and Warrior head coach, Terry Gorsuch, did not end well for Steele. The result was a permanent spot on the end of the bench, a place where he would remain for the rest of the night. However, that didn’t stop nervous fans for continually asking for Steele to be re-inserted in the game. But, win or lose, Gorsuch was set on making this a teaching moment for Steele.

McEachern turned on the defense pressure on the Warriors and briefly took the lead in the final period. However, North Cobb was able to dial up some pressure of their own and received clutch performances by Dennis Young-Coleman(#11), Lee Moore (#12), and Jordan Neef (#14). In the end,  North Cobb High was able to hold-off the McEachern Indians by a score of 63 to 60.
